Making your brand digital
Digitizing your brand isn’t just a matter of throwing your existing branding materials online. Going digital is about communicating your values in a way that makes people want to know you and contact you. It’s about turning online interaction into real-world interaction.
Control your image
A good digital brand acts as an anchor for everything you do online. It allows your audience to know you at a glance. (Remember, internet users aren’t patient. They decide how they feel in mere seconds.) A solid digital brand will help ensure that the online community sees you as you want to be seen.
Keep your image focused
Everything you do online, from your website graphics to your blog topics should be in line with your brand identity. (For more on branding see Developing a brand identity.) Your logo should also be prominent, and optimized for web use. Use your website’s navigational tools (menus, links, etc.) to your advantage. Headers and tabs should guide visitors through your site in a way that teaches them who you are, explains your story and tells them what you value.
