Canadian Friends of the Hebrew University's IMRIC Brand Identity
Canadian Friends of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem wanted to establish a complete identity and branding for the University’s new Institute for Medical Research Israel-Canada (IMRIC), a leading-edge facility that fosters interdisciplinary scientific and medical research. IMRIC’s new brand required a logo, tagline, print and web materials and a premier marketing brochure that would stand out in a sea of targeted fundraising materials.
Nyman Ink created a logo concept based on a stylized representation of the map of Israel, made up of 83 round-cornered squares symbolizing the 83 research groups involved with IMRIC and using five colours, representing IMRIC’s five research departments. The new brand communicates that each person (Canadian, Israeli or otherwise) is part of a strong, united whole and speaks to the organization’s potential to achieve great things. The signature fundraising brochure we created, profiles IMRIC scientists and their work, using bold photographs and an unusual custom die cut to give the brochure a cutting-edge look that matches the nature of the institute’s research.
