Your Life Productions Inc., a company that makes tribute videos for corporate and personal occasions, wanted to overhaul its Web site to coincide with a planned advertising campaign in celebration of its 20th anniversary.
Challenge: Your Life Productions’ Web site needed a little work. In fact, it needed a lot of work. Not only could popular search engines such as Google not read or index the site’s pages (making it difficult for people to find the site and making it difficult for the company to purchase online ads for its campaign), but the design was drab and the content disorganized. In short, the site wasn’t at all representative of the broadcast-quality videos Your Life Productions created.
Consultation: In order to improve the Web site as well as make its online ad campaign a success, Your Life’s site needed a complete makeover: a design that better represented its corporate culture and properly reflected its high-quality work. The site needed to host streamed video so visitors could view the company’s portfolio. It also needed content that was more representative of both personal and corporate occasions and a streamlined site map that organized the content well for both people and search engines, helping Google, for example, read and index its site. Realistically, it needed the works.
Implementation: After we came up with an easy, workable site map, our editorial team whipped the site’s existing content into shape, ensuring that corporate and personal events were covered equally and that all sections had accompanying portfolio pieces and testimonials. Our designers worked quickly to make a sophisticated wide-screened, black-background design that “felt” like a movie theatre, better representing the company and its products. The design also used still frames, from the company’s portfolio, as images on each of the pages. Lastly, we added streaming video to the site to host the company’s portfolio, making it easily accessible.
Result: nymanink delivered the site in six weeks — less than half the time it usually takes to create a Web site of this magnitude in order to meet our client’s advertising campaign deadline.
Reaction: “I love it. Navigating the [Web] site is smooth as silk … love the black and white tones. It is classy, informative and easy to use.”
