In celebration of the 150th Anniversary of Holy Blossom Temple, Benjamin Z. Maissner, the synagogue's Cantor and Director of Music, produced a CD as a gift to the congregation. The Cantor asked nymanink to design, edit and produce the complete CD package (disc face, tray card and booklet of lyrics). He wanted the package to look as good as he sounded on “A Jubilee Celebration.”

Challenge: The package comprised several pieces, including a booklet containing Hebrew and English lyrics. Throughout the process, we coordinated with the Cantor, the Hebrew typesetter and the manufacturer/printer of the CD package. In other words, we had to juggle and organize a lot of different pieces and people.

Consultation: We helped Cantor Maissner understand intellectual property rights and complete the necessary paperwork. In addition to our precise editing and unique design work, we also organized and coordinated the project, keeping it on schedule and on budget.

Implementation: Our team worked on the project for about eight months, meeting a series of tight deadlines, coordinating and collaborating with all involved parties, from beginning to end. Our editorial team checked the text time and time again, ensuring that the changes to the Hebrew and English text were made correctly and consistently. Our designers created a striking look for the cover, featuring vibrant colours, an arresting background of the synagogue's Sanctuary and an image of the Cantor. The design was extended to the tray card and CD face to keep the branding of the CD consistent.

Result: We wowed the Cantor with a beautiful, professional CD package that was worthy of his music. And, of course, we delivered it on time due to our exceptional project-management skills.

Reaction: “Wow! It is absolutely beautiful, gorgeous … Thank you so much. It is the most professional looking CD I have ever produced.”
