In honour of Wordless Wednesday (one of those fun little blogosphere themes), today I bring you a series of illusion images. May they inspire you in your pursuit of great graphic design.
First up, an oldie: the three hares, as seen rendered in the window of Paderborn Cathedral. There are only three ears, yet each hare has two. Neat, right?

Next up, another classic. This is "All is Vanity" drawn by Charles Allen Gilbert in 1892. Source.

The superhero world seems especially fond of so-called "optical illusion" illustrations. Consider this 2 Batmen = 1 Wolverine one by Olly Moss.

And then there's this Heroes and Villains series by Simon Page.

Illustrations such as these have been around forever (as evidenced by the three hares). They're always fun to consider, and it's always valuable to think about the different ways in which the brain will process information that is seemingly static. If you're designing anything new these days, remember... not everyone will see what you do at first glance. It's always worthwhile to look at your designs from more than one perspective.
