Jen Selk
I’m a recovering professional journalist.
No, really.
I spent the last decade writing pop culture pieces for publications such as the Vancouver Sun, Dose, ION magazine, The Tyee and the National Post. I’ve also contributed as an on-air personality to CBC Radio, Cosmo TV and MTV. Alas, life in the media biz isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Luckily, in 2007, I managed to gnaw myself free and lost only one minor appendage in the process (my naiveté). I rehabbed by completing a Masters degree in English Literature at the University of Toronto and developing a raging, compensatory Twitter addiction. I landed at Nyman Ink, where I’m proud to say I write and edit documents of substance, mostly for not-for-profits. On occasion, I even manage to use some of the skills I learned in university (unusual for an English Lit grad). Of course, when you start out writing about Paris Hilton and thongs (in or out?) there’s no where to go but up.
